Data transfer from your local computer to server

There are many ways to transfer your data from your local commputer to remote server.

To make connection on remote server use FTP (File Transfer Protocol) with parameters you got from your Web hosting providers as user name, password and site name.

When you start Total Commander choice FTP Connect from Net menu, and you will see next window.

 Click to New connection... 

It will open next window:

In „Session“ field type short site name ( It will be a name of your connection).

  In the „Host name[:port] field type site name or FTP host address you got from your Web hosting provider ( in most cases it is www.hostaddress.yourdomain).

  In „User name“ field type FTP user name you got from hosting provider.

In „Password“ field type FTP passwordyou got from hosting provider.

Other field live empty and just check box „use passive mode for transfers (like a www browser)“.

To finish click  „OK“

You will see the window like shown on next picture:

Click on „Connect“.

In short time you will be connected on your site. 

Further you make data transfer as you work on your own computer.

Choice location on your site where you wish to placed file, right click and mark file for transfer and type F5 on keybord. Submit "OK" and file will be copied on server.
Notice:

It is very important to know - if you overwrite any data on server, it cant be backuped. 

So, we strong reccommand you to make backup for your data or make copy and save them on computer. After that you can safety overwrite your data.
